My Call for Action by Ziana Santana

I believe the only way to receive change is to make change.

One must get up and take action,

it won't change by just relaxing.

Try to change the law,

make several calls.

Contact the local congressman,

we might just win in the end.

" The World We Live In"  by Ziana Santana

I was born to a nation,

that still needs saving.

Yes we overcame slavery,

and I'm thankful to those who paved the way.

We live in a world where many think racism is over,

but the burden is still carried on our shoulder.

I do believe somewhere along the lines our generation has lost respect,

and someone of a greater force needs to put them in check.

But senseless killings and police brutality,

is becoming too much of a reality.

So we protest with our hands up saying don’t shoot,

then the message suddenly turns into we hate cops and let's loot.

When I turn on the news,

I feel like my generation continues to loose.

And for those of my friends whose lives were put to an end,

some by the gun, who thought the gang life would be fun.

But for the kids who come after,

I want them to live in a world with laughter.

A world where you won't be judged,

and  almost no one will live life with a grudge.
